Luca Nicholas (b. 1997 Tāmaki Makaurau, Aotearoa) is an artist working in intaglio, screenprinting, monoprinting, and drawing. His work often explores conversations that emerge from retail, ‘the archive’, and fashion. Nicholas is interested in how value is ascribed within these fields. He is curious how print’s proximities to care and accident might queer our understanding of these spaces. Nicholas enacts this queering through implicit modes of touch, embrace, trace, and failure that are associated with printmaking.
